I think the track listing is great! This compilation has every song I used to dig on in my car! I have all the l.p.s and waited for the big breakout song that never happened. Don’t know why, because if you listen to all these cuts…just, wow!
High Inergy were Motown’s ‘new Supremes,’ and they lived up to their promise musically (especially with their first album. “Turnin’ On,” and the 2nd, “Steppin’ Out.” Their lead singer subsequently departed the scene to sing gospel, and Barbara Mitchell took over. It affected everything commercially (Barabara had a solo project produced by George Tobin too on Capitol Records, circa 1984).
I’ve heard complaints about the track listing but it ain’t bad! I would’ve chosen “Peaceland” over “Devoiton,” or “We Are The Future,” over “Just A Touch Away”
I give it 4 stars anyway. Get it. It’ll grown on you!
