Keyboard player and bassist Matti Klein alongside saxman Lars Zander and drummer Andre Servel deliver a fine set full of nice grooves.  The album starts with the Crusaders sounding ‘Kill It With A Pill’ and chills out on ‘Fairly Old Stories’ that benefits from a lovely understated bassline. ‘Seraya Blues has a grittiness to it, and again the Crusaders simile is appropriate, whilst the subtle Afrobeat undertones permeate ‘African Taxitrip’.  The gentle ‘Windy Move’ is another highlight as is the funky ‘Gringo Funk’. ‘Soul Trio’ has a nice balance between its uptempo, funky numbers and some pleasing mellow tunes.
