Mississippi act Natural High released ‘Natural high 1’ in 1979 and it would be their sole full length release. ‘Dance To The Funk’ has echoes of Sly Stone but by the tail-end of the seventies probably sounded out of date in a climate hot with disco. The monster two-step ‘I Think I’m Falling In Love With You’ sounds like Hutson at his best and is the standout track on the album but don’t overlook the spacey disco funk of ‘Don’t Be Lonely’ that has echoes of fellow MS natives Freedom. The breezy, uplifting ‘You Make Me So Happy’ is an instant funky modern dancer that has seen a lot of plays across Europe and Japan and is also one for the DJs. Good, if brief 8 track set.
