Nat Birchall Unity Ensemble
New World

Nat Birchall has made albums recently where to his credit he plays all instruments. On
‘New World’ he mainly concentrates on the sax and is joined by an ensemble of
musicians with veteran British Jazz Saxophonist Alan Skidmore guesting. ’New World’ is
an excellent modal track , eight minutes of beautiful Jazz music. ‘Greetings Of Love’ is
another highlight this track showing a strong Pharoah Sanders influence. ‘Exaltation’ ,
‘Jubilation’ and ‘Elevation’ are more intense and remind me of Coltrane’s later Impulse
recordings.
