Grover’s debut for Elektra was a funky affair. His then band Locksmith could hit the kind of Jazz/Funk groove that few could aspire to. The title song – sampled by Portrait amongst others – has a lush yet funky feel, whilst, despite its title, ‘Icey’ has warm Latin vibe. ‘Tell Me About It Now’ and ‘Feel It Comin’ is Mainstream Jazz Funk groovers that, these days, get overlooked. This is a gem of an album that sometimes doesn’t receive its dues..
