Sharpeye are London based duo Gareth Tasker & Barrie Sharpe (producer) and ‘Rhythm Rhyme Revolution’ is a limited edition (500 copies CD/300 Vinyl) offering that sees the pair embracing a raft of influences and styles, from the afro-groove, hypnotic chant of the title track to the JB inspired funker ‘Stand Up’. ‘Watch Ya Back’ is a dubby, spacey laid back funk effort, ‘Do It In The Sunshine’ again bears hallmarks of afro-Caribbean vibes, ‘Summertime’ has a carefree, bubbling groove with some lovely injections of brass courtesy of Kenny Wellington while the laid back ‘Do You Know How I Feel’ again has a lazy, summery vibe.
