This pairing of Main Ingredient albums sees 1975s ‘Rolling Down A Mountainside’ coupled with 1977s ‘Music Maximus’. The former made number 3 on the US R&B Chart at the time whilst the latter failed to dent. ‘Rolling Down The Mountainside’ kicks off with the funky title and grows with a blend of mid tempo ballads and more uptempo moments ‘Family Man’ and ‘Good Old Days’ the finger clicker ‘A Broken Heart Don’t Really Break’ finishing with the stunning southern tinged ‘That Ain’t My Style’. ‘Music Maximus’ co-produced by Lou Courtney features a good version of Leon ware’s ‘Instant Love’ with ‘Comes The Night’ summing up the kind of smooth, floating modern soul dominating the album
