Two of Ramsey Lewis’ early eighties albums on one CD, ‘Routes’ has always been popular with those that adore light and melodic Jazz Funk. Tracks like the Earth Wind and Fire sounding ‘Whisper Zone’ and the groove led ‘High Point’ will appeal. ‘Come Back Jack’ is a fine and funkier Fusion cut and ‘You Are The Reason’ is a pleasant and jaunty mid-tempo offering. ‘Three Piece Suite’ features Ramsey’s acoustic piano skills.
