Four years separates these two albums from Maze, the last two they would record as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. 1989’s Silky Soul” would become one of their most successful albums topping the R&B album chart in 1989, and the lead single from the album ‘Can’t Get Over You’ also topped the R&B singles chart. The title track “Silky Soul” echoes Marvin’s ‘What’s Going On’ while other highlights include ‘Love’s On The Run’ and ‘Somebody Else’s Arms’. ‘Back To Basics’ from ’93 featured the singles ‘Nobody Knows What You Feel Inside’ and ‘The Morning After’ but the pick of the tracks is the Instrumental ‘Twilight’ – a seven minute dance floor killer.
