‘Splash’ is Freddie Hubbard’s only recording for Fantasy. It has a commercial soulful feel. It features the vocals of Jeanie Tracy on four songs. Standout is the gorgeous is ‘You’re Gonna Lose Me’, though ‘Splash’ itself is a fine dance tune. ‘Sister Stine’ is a full-on Jazz Funk piece with Hubbard’s trumpet in blistering form. ‘I’m Yours’ and ‘Touchdown’ are strong Fusion grooves.
