The Five Stairsteps recorded two albums with Curtis Mayfield the first self titled album for Windy C and then with Cubie on ‘Love’s Happening’ for Curtom. This CD covers both albums plus five bonus tracks. The music from the Windy C set is beautiful owing much in the vocals to Doo Wop and the harmonies and instrumentation are sympathetic and very simple. The second album has more of a Motown feel. The Stairsteps paved the way of child groups like the Jackson 5, but albeit with a lot more SOUL
