Vocally reminiscent in parts to Big Brooklyn Red, Brit Danny Toeman has put together a fantastic debut in the form of this five track EP ‘The Way It Seems’ which will surely gain him a lot more followers. Punchy production with a timeless lean towards classic, well crafted songs and strong, positive lyrics, Toeman delivers with a voice more often heard in the southern states of the US than London Town! ‘Reaching Out For A Helping Hand’ is perhaps the standout, but equally good are the dancers ‘Laying It On The Line’ and the supper catchy ‘That Sinking Feeling’. ‘Conspiracy’ is also quality punctuated by some razor-horns and pacey bass lines, while the ender ‘Everybody Says I’m Wrong’ is a stripped back deep moment…guitar, bass and backing is all this track needs to wrap around Toeman’s gravel-edged vocal. Really good.
