Incredibly, ‘Tomorrow’s New Dream’ marks Incognito’s 40th annivesary in the music business and they show no signs of losing the ability to craft tight, well crafted jazz funk and funky soul. The warm ‘Haze Of Summer’ is a catchy mid tempo opener with all the ingredients firmly in place: incisive horns, Bluey’s bubbling guitar, a driving B-line, and soulful vocals, while the band’s diversity shows on the Latin groover ‘The Weather Report’, the punchy soulful dancer ‘All For You’ and the jazzier ‘ Still The One’, the latter possibly the track of the album. The band are equally at home with fast tempo numbers like ‘Say What’s On Your Mind’ and slower ballads like the superb, bluesy ‘Absence In Spring’. Triumphant return from these UK stalwarts.
