This compilation highlights the Soul and Disco club scene from 1974-75 before it was termed disco. It is a strong comp and featuring many uptempo soul classics from the time including the wonderful  Blue Magic ‘Welcome To The Club’, Ben E King ‘Supernatural Thing’, Eddie Kendricks ‘Date With The Rain’, Gloria Scott ‘Just As Long as We’re Together’, Sons Of Robin Stone ‘Got To Get You Back’, Ecstasy Passion And Pain ‘Good Things Don’t Last Forever’, Creative Source ‘You Can’t Hide Love’ and Harold Melvin ‘Wake Up Everybody’. Ronnie McNeir underrated ‘Wendy Is Gone’, Margie Joseph excellent ‘I Can’t Move No Mountains’ , Moment Of Truth ‘Helplessly’ and Al Foster ‘Night of The Wolf’ (turns out to be actually by Italian artist Ivano Fossati) are also included along with John Gary Williams modern soul classic ‘The Whole Darn World Is Going Crazy’ , Major Harris ‘Each Morning i Wake Up’ and Jimmy Ruffin ‘Tell me what You Want’. Lesser known gems from The Intrepids, Act one , White Heat Richard Popcorn Wylie and Betty Everett complete this interesting and entertaining compilation.
