Recorded live in New York at the Avery Fisher Hall on 27th June 1982, this concert shows the brilliant bass player Jaco Pastorius at his best. With a full band including big horn section, he thrives. Take the Soul Jazz of ‘The Chicken’ or the elongated ‘Invitation’ for instance. The modal Jazz of ‘Reza/ Giant Steps’ is another highlight. There is plenty of bass playing to admire and guest appearances by harmonica player Toots Thielemann.
