Wants List 5 celebrates 30 years of Soul Brother Records with 18 Rare Groove classics and rarities, hand picked by Laurence.

Barry White ‘Playin Your Game Baby’ is here in its magnificent full 7 minute version. Sweet Charles ‘Yes Its You’ , Edwin Starr ‘There You Go’ , Willie Hutch ‘Ain’t That Mellow Mellow’ , Ronnie McNeir ‘ I’m Your Lover’, Reflections ‘She’s My Summer Breeze’, Four Tops ‘Strung Out For Your Love’ and Jeannie Reynolds ‘Don’t want to be second best’ are among the 2 step classics included. The Mighty Ryeders, Sisters Love and The Voices Of East Harlem tracks are also great club classics. There are also all time soul classics from The Dramatics and Bobby Bland, plus lesser known gems from Penny Goodwin , Mike James Kirkland and Thelma Houston—and an incredible version of Marvin’s ‘Save The Children’ by Marlena Shaw. Every track is a winner and with the remastered sound they really sound fresh on this fantastic compilation.

    Amazing selection – this is definitely on my ‘MUSTS’, let alone ‘Wants’ list. CANNOT WAIT for the LP – hope it is numbered or signed (or both)!
