New album from Joss Stone and something of a radical departure musically in that a lot of the tracks on ‘Water For Your Soul’ have a reggae vibe as opposed to the southern soul groove of her previous work. That said there are touches where the reggae blends with soul and produces some fine moments: ‘This Ain’t Love’ manages to straddle both genres coming out sounding modern and relevant. ‘Star’ has a deep, rolling groove, ‘Let Me Breathe’ sounds like early Quantic while ‘Sensimillia’ is a dreamy mellow, stripped back gem. A few listens and the more musically broad among you will really enjoy this. Real summer vibes – hard to fault the productions or Joss’ sweet, confident voice.
