Superb compilation featuring 20 tracks of Miami and Southern Soul recorded between 1968-74 by the deep voiced J P Robinson. ‘What Can I Tell Her’, ‘Only Be True’, ‘You Can Be A Lady’ and ‘Love is Not A Stranger’ are great Southern style ballads. ‘You Got Your Thing on a string’ and the punchy ‘Say it’ have a little more tempo. The ’74 Blue Candle sides are the absolute standouts, ‘Our Day is Here’ is a great Modern soul mid paced dancer, whilst ‘Keep Me Satisfied’ is a more uptempo string laden brassy dancer.
