Saxophonist Mindi Abair is one of the funkiest Smooth Jazz artists.’Wild Heart’ is pretty full on,with mainly funky and at time almost rocky tunes. One of the highlights is the mid tempo ‘Addicted To You’ co-written with and featuring Booker T Jones on Hammond Organ, which provides a nice contrast to the more energetic tracks. The funky ‘Amazing game’ features Trombone Shorty. Mindi sings on four of the tracks including duets with Keb Mo ‘I’ll be Your Home’ and Gregg Allman ‘Just Say When’, both mid tempo bluesier tracks.
