Clark Sisters were a five-piece that hailed from Detroit and were guided by the musical talents of Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark and their mother, Mattie Moss Clark. By the early 1970s they had released their first records for their uncle Bill Moss’ Bilesse outlet. Bill and Mattie had both recorded for Detroit’s Westbound label.The sparkling ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright’, the low-slung, funky ‘Power’ and the warm, blues-tinged ‘Nothing To Lose, All To Gain’ are the strongest cuts and maybe the most universally accessible.
