It is the best week for new releases for a while with good new Soul albums from Leela James and Joe and cracking Smooth jazz sets from Rick Braun and Paul Hardcastle.

Reissues
There are good reissues from Carlos Garnett, Sylvia St James, Cymande and welcome anthologies from Skyy and Lolleatta Holloway, and a tremendous 70’s soul comp ‘Step inside my soul’. There are some good vinyl issues with a great double 12″ of Motown Divas.

R.I.P Bobby Womack
We are very sad to hear of the loss of Bobby Womack, one of the greatest Soul singers of all time. You can read our tribute here, and listen to our 1hr plus radio show. Sorry for those of you who tried to listen to the show on Solar through Sky last sunday there was a technical fault which meant the first half of the show did not go out.
