Pianist Benito Gonzalez has assembled a stellar cast including Nicholas Payton, Christian McBride and Jeff Tain Watts on his album ‘ Sing To The World’ quality of slightly left field Jazz. Brazilian singer Samantha Schultz joins with Adrian Younge for ‘Samantha and Adrian’ an album mainly of down tempo Brazilian songs but includes the modern soul dancer ‘ More Than Love’ which is sure to get some radio and club plays. There are high quality reissues of Rotary Connection ‘Hey Love’ including the classic ‘I Am The Black gold Of The Sun’ featuring Minnie Riperton., and Billy Hawks ‘Heavy Soul’ featuring the mod jazz ‘Oh baby (I’m Losing You’) both on BGP.
There are a few good 45 reissues Marion Black ‘Who Knows’ and Johnson Hawkins Tatum and Durr ‘You Can’t Blame Me’ on Numero and Charlie Rich ‘Don’t Tear Me Down’ and The Afterglows version of Barbara lynn ‘I’m a Good woman’ on Kent.
