Cornell CC Carter hails from San Francisco, and processes a really soulful voice. His music recalls an earlier age of soul music
with a good time feel. His fifth album ‘Expressions Of Soul’ is one of his strongest to date. ‘The Change’ is a memorable upper mid tempo 80s style Soulful song that grooves along nicely. ‘Everyday’ ‘Holding Back’ ‘Its So Nice’ and ‘Sometimes’ (with Brian Power) are good contemporary dancers with a hint of The 80s. The cover of Marvin ‘Come Get To This’ and the mid tempo floater ‘Never Gonna Waste It’ feature Eddie M on sax. The ballads ‘Are You Alone’ ‘Easy To Love’ and ‘I Can’t Find A Way’ provide a good contrast. Strong album.
