For new releases this week we have the brilliant album from Cornell CC Carter ‘Expressions Of Soul’, this is his fifth studio and certainly one of his strongest albums. We also have a new album from Nat Birchall, this time with a very interesting reggae album, not dissimilar to great albums by Jackie Mittoo and Ernst Ranglin. Elsewhere there is a nice latin funk album from Mestizo Beat, a good uptempo disco album from Nikka Costa plus a great new release from duo Alicia and Michael Olatuja. Finally, the marvellous Jalen Ngonda is out with a brilliant 45 with two tracks from his acclaimed album.
For reissues this week there is Darondo’s classic southern soul album ‘Let My People Go’ and Miles Davis’s funk album from 1985 titled ‘You Are Under Arrest’. For Blues Notes this week there is the wonderful Juju from Wayne Shorter, and Lee Morgan’s ‘The Gigolo’ – both fantastic.

A couple of weeks ago we putt up a good batch 70s and 80s soul 45s which you can view here. This adds to the list of 60s soul 45s which you can see here if you missed, and we also added to our series of 12″ singles with part 15. We featured the first batch of 25 Original Vinyl Soul LPs from a large new collection that we will be purchasing over the next year, there are some great hard to find albums; quite a few sold out immediately and we have added a few where there were second copies to the list.
