The Vibrations’ ‘Love In Them There Hills’, Peaches & Herb’s ‘United’, Freddie Scott’s ‘(You) Got What I Need’, Mary Wells’ ‘A Brand New Me’, Archie Bell’s ‘I Can’t Stop Dancing’, Intruders’ ‘Cowboys To Girls’, and Gladys Knight’s ‘Together’ are the best of the 60’s tracks on the comp. ‘Joe Simon’s ‘Drowning In A Sea of Love’, Wilson Pickett’s ‘Ain’t No Doubt About It’, The Supremes version of ‘Love Train’, Barbara Mason’s ‘Me And Mr Jones’, Margo Thunder’s ‘Expressway To Your Heart’ and Bonnie Bramlett & Dobie Gray’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ represent the more raw early 70’s sound. The more familiar Classics include The O’Jays ‘I Love Music’, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes’ ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’, Lou Rawls’ ‘You’ll Never Find Another Love’, Third World’s ‘Now That We’ve Found Love’ and Jean Carn’s version of ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now’. Great Soul music that still sounds fresh 50 years on.
