Album Of The Day | With Love Volume 2 Compiled By Miche

Miche has delved deep again to uncover 15 underground obscure soulful gems from some of our music’s lesser known artists. Billy Boomer recorded one single for the Chicago Blast label in 1982 and both sides are featured here, the good time party track ‘I Like what She’s Doing’ and the more laid back groover ‘You Can’t Hide’. P.J.City ‘Straight Forward’ and Mixed Generation Enterprize ‘Take To The Sky’ are hard hitting brassy disco funk tracks. Maxwell ‘Realize’ is an excellent upper mid tempo track in the style of Mighty Ryeders.

Cecil Lyde ‘I’ll Make It On My Own’ and Alice Cohen & Fun City ‘Save The Best For Last’ are early 80’s modern soul dancers. Freedom ‘High On You’ is a 70’s dancer, Lost Family ‘Blow My Mind’ a modern soul dancer and Family Tree turn in a different take on Stevie Wonder ‘As’.
Chilean Latin Soul singer Rogers Mitchell contributes two steppers from his very rare 1970 album on the CD, annoyingly only one of them is on the LP which has the non CD track Eleventh Commandment ‘Then I Reach Satisfaction’.There are also two chilled out Brazilian grooves from Banda 22 and Ze Da Lata. Nice comp which will bring these really obscure tracks to a wider audience.
