Drummer Alphonse Mouzon recorded this classic Jazz-Funk album in 1981 with Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Ritenour, Paul Jackson Jr, the Seawind Horns and others. ‘By All Means’ is a 13 minute dance floor Jazz-Funk magnum opus with some great solos from the main players, especially Hancock. ‘Do I Have To’ and ‘The next Time We Love’ are nice shuffling mid tempo grooves, whilst ‘The Jogger’ is a funkier number. ‘Space Invaders’ features an intense and legendary drum workout from Mouzon.
