Bob Marley and the Wailers 75th Anniversary, Reissue, Original and CD – Remembering Bob Marley 40 Years On

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Bob Marley’s untimely passing when he sadly succumbed to cancer at the age of 36 in 1981.

Up until that point, his legend burned brightly, recording numerous albums over the course of his career that would canonise his iconic status within the music scene as one of its enduring greats, a giant of reggae music who fused elements of Ska, Rocksteady, Soul and Rock together to create a universal and contemporary sounding Reggae that could be enjoyed by global audiences. He sold over 75 million records worldwide at his peak, and is considered as one of the greatest recording artists of the 20th Century. The associations made with Bob Marley and the messages coded within his music—from Rastafarian spiritualism, anti-racism and colonialism, Pan-Africanism and Jamaican culture, politics and identity—live long through the medium of his music, a transcendental blend of Carribean, American and English sounds.

Check out some of our Bob Marley Albums that we have in stock, ranging from the half-speed mastered 75th Anniversary edition records, remastered from the original analogue tapes at Abbey Road Studios in London, his extensive back catalogue, all reissued on vinyl, and some of the remaining original Bob Marley albums that we listed from a recent Reggae collection.
