Lady Blackbird – Black Acid Soul | Album Of The Day

Lady Blackbird finally releases her debut album ‘Black Acid Soul’, albeit on limited edition Lp and Cd for the moment. . Her distinctive voice is steeped in the history of Jazz and Soul, with hints of her influences: Billie Holiday, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse and Chaka Khan. The album was recorded in Studio B (Princes room) at Sunset Sound .L.A., and is produced by Chris Seefried mastered by Bernie Grundman. The eleven mainly down tempo tracks include the Jazz standard ‘Blackbird’, and Voices of East Harlem/Hypnotics ‘Beware The Stranger’, culminating with the dramatic evocative string laden choral ‘Black Acid Soul’. Deron Johnson (ex Miles Davis) is outstanding on Baby Grand piano throughout. Lady Blackbird has announced her arrival as a future star with this captivating neo-classic album which is likely to appear on many ‘Album of the year’ lists.  Vinyl is a limited edition Foundation collectors issue with embossed sleeve , CD is a limited edition issue of 100 card sleeve ‘Promo’ CD.
