We’re delighted to announce our first instore since the start of the pandemic – things are slowly getting back to normal and we’ve got some great stuff in store for you! Myele Manzanza will be joining us on Saturday, 26th February for an instore signing of his latest offering Crisis & Opportunity Volume 2 from 13:00 on the day.
Myele Manzanza, New Zealand born drummer and bandleader, took us by surprise when Crisis and Opportunity volume 1 appeared on the scene in mid 2021, a stalwart, highly produced album replete with a heavyweight personnel; featuring the likes of Ashley Henry, Mark de Clive Lowe, James Copus, George Crowley and Benjamin Murault.
At the time, we couldn’t sell enough copies of it and a chance meeting with Myele’s A&R at Ronnie Scotts allowed us to get copies directly from the source, while also learning of the fact that Crisis and Opportunity V1 was the first of five in a series, with Volume 2 penned to be released in late 2021. Unfortunately, delays meant that the album was manufactured and distributed later than planned, with fresh copies arriving in the shop as of this week.
Needless to say we secured our fair share of copies well in advance – we weren’t to make the same mistake as last time. Copies of Crisis & Opportunity Volume 2 are going up for general sale in the shop from Friday and if we sell out – which there is a strong likelihood of us doing so as the steady trickle of pre-orders from well-adjusted pairs of ears trickle in – we should be able to get hold of more copies for the event.
The day will be a celebration of the physical launch of the album and a chance for you to meet the talismanic drummer in person. Keep up to date with our socials in the run up to the event and keep your eyes peeled in London for some funky posters…
Great to see that the music scene is just about returning to a normal pace, and we’re very excited to have some of the world’s best musicians back in the shop meeting the people that love their art. Join us for what is undoubtedly going to be a wicked day!
His album is also our album of the day today. Without trying to give you all salesy schtick—which most online marketing is practically for—copies are genuinely flying out at a semi-alarming pace. So if you want to 100 per cent guarantee one for youselves, my suggestion is to order off us fairly quickly to avoid dissappointment.
