There are quite a few interesting new albums this week, plus some great reissues.
Arlo Parks has been creating a buzz and her album ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams’ fits into the Lianne La Havas/Jorja Smith terrority. Delvon Lamaar Organ Trio have a funky album on Colemine, and the Deborah Jordan and Georgie Sweet albums on Futuristica are now available on LP in limited quantities. Justin Thurgur album is new London Jazz with an afro feel and Giles Peterson’s new compilation ‘Idaba’ features South african Jazz recorded in lockdown Cd out now Lp in March.
William Stuckey’s rare album ‘Love of Mine’ gets a welcome reissue on Athens of the North on Cd and Lp, Norman Feels ‘Where or when is out on LP and Black Heat’s great first album is reissued on vinyl.Plenty more reissues including Tina Brooks Blue Note Tone Poet, EWF, Windy City , Miles in Tokyo and a great Brunswick Northern soul comp.
Jazz is dead and jazz is dead 2 LP represses have arrived in the country and are expected in store by Wednesday and all pre-orders will be shipped on the day of arrival.
