New releases and pre-orders – 1st July 2016

Maxwell returns with the long awaited second part of Blacksummer’s night seven years on, and after a few spins it is probably stronger than the first instalment. Kandace Springs has made a lovely sophisticated vocal jazz album – check her version of ‘World is a ghetto’. Snarky Puppy excellent ‘Culcha Vulcha’ is now in on Vinyl as well as CD. Louie Vega ‘Starring XXVIII’ is finally back in stock on CD and Vinyl , both are flying out so make sure you grab your copy whilst we have them, all and back orders have now been shipped. The unique rising star Jacob Collier has his debut album ‘In My Room’ released.

Lianne La Havas has a 12″ EP featuring Acoustic versions of tracks from her Blood album, and we have a few copies of the in demand Hot 8 Brass Band ‘Sexual Healing (RSD) 12″ back in stock.

Tahiara Memory’s shows at Pizza express were apparently brilliant, if you haven’t picked up here superb album Pride yet, you can grab a copy here. She’s in Bournemouth on Saturday 9th July – if you’re near, don’t miss out! Tickets here

Soul on the Realside Vol 5 is probably the best in the series so far, and features many great tracks. Azymuth ‘Outubro’ and Coffee ‘Slippin n Dippin’ have welcome CD reissues, and there is a good comp of early British Jazz in the Tempo Modern Jazz Anthology.There are some good Vinyl reissues including a standard weight version of Eramus Hall LP, plus a fantastic Double A side 45 on the Soul Brother label featuring the two best dancers from Eleanore Mills with ‘Same Routine and I’m Gonna Get You appearing on 45 for the first time ever.

There are some great releases coming out in July check this Pre-order section here with new albums from William Bell, Will Downing and Kenny Garrett due next week plus the first ever official reissue of Wood Brass and Steel classic album on 180gm LP. There are also some great 45’s on the Soul Brother and Expansion labels due mid month.
