There are many good releases, reissues and restocks this week. Firstly we have the amazing Bobby Lyle ‘The Genie’ reissue Lp on our own Soul Brother label , a great classic Jazz-Funk Lp produced by Wayne Henderson , which looks and sounds amazing. There are new albums from Dee Dee Bridgewater, Brandee Younger, Gerardo Frisina and Joe Armon Jones. Reissues include Becky Bell rare disco/boogie album from 1980 , Ice (Lafayette Afro Rock Band), and there a couple of great comps of Northern soul , UK street Soul and Reggae. Jay D Martin rare Northern soul 45 is available on outta sight as regular dinked or Full Centre Dj Copy, there is a good unreleased low rider soul 45 by Thirty Two Soul band and a nice remix 12″ from The Joneses and Street People on Acid jazz.
We are sad to learn that Sly Stone passed away this week, one of our music’s most influential artists, who has left a musical legacy forever, fuller tribute to follow.
