New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 27th February

There are some good new releases , reissues and restocks this week. Michelle David and the True Tones return with their strongest album to date ‘Soul Woman’ a great retro soul album which includes many great soul dancers in a 60’s and Northern style.  Putneyite Tomasz Zyrmont is a Polish Pianist whose quartet includes our good friend Sean Khan on sax and the album ‘London Manifest’ is a strong contemporary jazz set. Jon Lucien ‘Search For The Inner Self’ is a nice compilation of his early works. Ace also has a good compilation of Charles Stepney productions ‘Eternal Journey’  both available on Lp and CD. Two lesser known but really good Stax albums are reissued on Real Gone Music on Black or Coloured vinyl : Ernie Hines ‘Electrified’  and ‘The Many Grooves of Barbara Lewis’. Bennie Green rare ‘Back On The Scene’ gets a Blue Note Tone Poet issue.

There are also some good 45’s on Kent and Acid Jazz from John Edwards, Ronnie McNeir, Patterson Twins and 60’s Soul from The Belles and Mark-Keys.
There are some good stocks from Cleo Sol, Bobbi Humphrey , Pharoah Sanders, Marvin Gaye , Portishead and more
Will Downing Ep ‘Still In Love’ came back in stock and has almost sold out again.
