This week for new releases we have a new album from Nathan Haines titled ‘Notes.’ Capturing the perfect balance of jazz and dance music, this release is the ideal summer album and features some fantastic collaborations with Vanessa Freedman and Marc de Clive-Lowe. We also have a new album from jazz saxophonist Vincent Ingala titled ‘Escape With Me’ and Esperanza Spalding and Milton Nascimento are together on a beautiful duet album.
As for reissues, we have three brand new 45s on Expansion and Outta Sight Records. The Gloria Gaynor is a lovely mid tempo stepper from 1978 and The Epitome Of Sound and Oma Heard are more up tempo tracks very popular on the Northern scene. Other great reissues include Chairman Of The Board’s funky album titled ‘Skin I’m In’ reissued on Demon Music, The Meters’ classic album ‘Now Playing,’ a brilliant Latin Jazz album from Fania Records titled Cafe, plus Wayne Shorter’s Speak No Evil and Art Blakey’s Moanin get a reissue limited edition blue vinyl. Also on the jazz front is Heavy Sounds from Elvin Jones and Richard Davis and there is also some classic hip hop from A Tribe Called Quest and Outkast too!

A couple of weeks ago we putt up a good batch 70s and 80s soul 45s which you can view here. This adds to the list of 60s soul 45s which you can see here if you missed, and we also added to our series of 12″ singles with part 15. We featured the first batch of 25 Original Vinyl Soul LPs from a large new collection that we will be purchasing over the next year, there are some great hard to find albums; quite a few sold out immediately and we have added a few where there were second copies to the list.
As always we have a brilliant selection of original LPs and 12s that have been added to the site in recent weeks. This week we added some brilliant original soul LPs in addition to the batches of Philly Soul and Classic Soul we put up recently, plus two new batches of 12″ singles for funk, disco and house fans check them out here and here.
