Recommended releases of the week – 20th June 2014

There are some interesting albums this week including a welcome new set from Jonathan Butler, an amazing new album from Snarky Puppy keyboardist Bill Laurance, Me’Shell Ndegecello and Cookin on 3 Burners plus the long awaited vinyl LP version of Nicola Conte’s excellent Free Souls. It is a bumper week for reissue 45’s with some really excellent Double A side singles, many never issued before on vinyl.

We are sad to learn of the passing of one of the Jazz greats Horace Silver. Malcolm has written an apt tribute to the great man, along with a recommend list of his essential albums. Please visit this link to view
