Soul Brother favourites the Doggett Brothers never fail to deliver and ‘Colours’, their much anticipated follow up to 2014’s ‘Daylight’ is another strong offering. With Kenny Thomas guesting on the catchy retro ‘You Make Me Feel’ the album gets right onto the good foot from the start and ‘Fill My Cup’ – a slightly slower groover (that has echoes of ‘Waterfalls’) is graced by Stacy Stuart’s vocals. Laura Jackson sings on four tracks with the tough dancer ‘Why’, the Latin feel of the title track ‘Colours’ and the catchy ‘Lover’ that moves close to ‘Never Give Up On A Good Thing’ being the highlights. The boys show their jazz sensibilities on the laid back instrumental 2am while ‘Outta Control’ has a brit-soul feel with a great stop-start groove. Awesome from start to finish. How can Great Yarmouth sound this good!?

Fresh, yet retro soul sound, with a hint of Incognito in places. Brilliant! Well worth checking out.
