Venue Connection bring us some nice 80’s/90’s influenced funky soul from Spain in a Brand New Heavies style. ‘Fire It Up’ is a great mid tempo funk with a wicked heavy bass line. ‘Hide And Seek’ is an uptempo full on brassy dancer with kicking drums, and ‘Lets Dance’ is another dancer. The horn backed ‘How Does it Feel’ and ‘La Cala’ and the instrumental jazz-funkers ‘Counselor’ and ‘Do Your Thang’ are also good. Nice groove oriented album with real horns !
