We recently came accross a number of copies of our reissue of 100 % Pure Poison’s 1974 masterpiece Coming Right At You in a warehouse, a record that commands fairly high price tags on Discogs these days with original copies fetching hundreds of pounds; an iron clad rarity with plenty to say for itself, an extremely rare gem in the collecting field.
Currently, we have limited stock of the LP in stock—all of which are sealed and in mint condition. From Soul and Jazz afficionados to the likes of John Peel, it’s record that sits well in the troves of well esteemed collectors, a stunning body of work that features a cast of US military personnel—including founding member and trumpeter Marvin Daniels of Southern Energy Ensemble fame—who recorded the album in Germany during their military service.
It includes the modern/northern dancer ‘You Keep Coming Back’, modern mid tempo ‘Puppet On A Chain’ with icy horn arrangements and a sweeping string section, the mid tempo ‘My Little Someone’ and some strong ballads. On the Funk side there’s the great mid tempo funky break ‘Windy C’ and brassy funk tracks ‘Holes In My Shoes’ and ‘No More City No More Country’.
As lucky as we were to come accross such a large quantity of these records so quickly, no sooner will they fly off the shelves at such a low price.
