George Duke returns with his best album in a decade or more with ‘Dreamweaver’ which includes one of the last tracks that Teena Marie recorded. Its a good week for smooth jazz with albums from Andrew Neu amongst others, and left field soul with Deborah Bond backing singer Kenny Wesley and Mayer Hawthorne.
There are good re-issues from Bar-Kays, Chi-lites, Phyllis Hyman and other ladies, along with Nicola Conte’s latest installment of his excellent Viagem series. Welcome back to The Impressions who make their first record in decades, nice 45.
