Durand Jones and The Indications sprung onto the scene with their classic retro 70’s soul album ‘American Love Call’ in 2019. They return with ‘Private Space’ another strong album which has both 70’s and early 80’s Soul influences. ‘Love Will Work It’ , a mid tempo floater that has that 70’s Sweet soul sound and also a nod to EWF ‘Head to The Sky. ‘Private Space’, ‘Reach out’, ‘I Can See’ are also nice mid tempo ballads, whilst ‘Ride or Die’ has that good time later 70’s feel. The up tempo cuts ‘Witchoo’ and ‘The Way That I Do’ and the mid tempo ‘More Than Ever’ have a late 70’s/early 80’s. Great contemporary Soul with an old school feel.
