Gloria Scott recorded a classic and in demand album produced by Barry White in 1974. Nearly 50 years on she has made a follow-up album ‘So Wonderful’, recorded in the UK featuring some great musicians including Snowboy, Gary Crokett and Andrew McGuiness . The string backed mid tempo groover ‘All Of The Time, You’re On My Mind’ co-written by Frank Wilson’s brother Vance has all the hallmarks of her earlier work and was likely written for her First album. Barry White, H.B. Barnum and Gene Page wrote the ballad ‘I’ve Got To Have All Of You’, and more uptempo ‘There’s No Cure For Me’ which were also 70s songs. There is a good cover of Joe Smooth uptempo ‘Promised Land’. Of the new songs the upper tempo ‘So Wonderful’ , ‘Real’ and mid tempo ‘Running Away’ and ‘Show Me’ impress the most. Strong contemporary Soul album with a 70s Soul feel, illustrating Gloria in fine voice throughout.
