Leela James returns with a strong R&B Soul album ‘See Me’. Her rich voice is one of the most distinctive in contemporary Soul music. Rex Rideout helps out as Executive co-producer with Leela and he produces some of the tracks including the uptempo dancer ‘Rise N Shine’ and more RnB ‘Complicated’ and beat ballad ‘Put It On Me’. ‘Sippin’ is a nice mid tempo beater. The highlights are those written by and featuring Jarius JMo Mozee ; The ballad ‘I Want You’ and the slinky mid tempo ‘Trying To Get By’ which has an early 70’s Curtis and Bobby Womack influence and is one of the best new soul tracks so far this year. Nice album.
