After several amazing weeks of releases there are very few this week, however there is a quality Deep Soul 45 on Expansion from Gloria Taylor ,plus a couple of high quality Cd’s on Vocallion.

Also we have managed to source a few copies of the limited edition Miles Davis ‘Rubberband’ RSD 12″, i believe this is the first time we have been able to offer this title on mail order, there’s only a few so please get in quick on this one

Pre-order for next week for some really good titles with the Royal Krunk Jazz Orchestra on Ropeadope likely to be one of their best for some time, featuring a killer 11 minute track ‘Fair’ from Dionne Farris, Jeff Lorber and a new Garfield Fleming mini album.  Also the vinyl reissues of the rare High Fidelity Patrick Adams produced mini album and three great Spiritual Jazz albums from the Tribe label. Randy Muller will be in the Soul Brother store from 2pm today previewing tracks from his forthcoming album. Apart from being a legend he is also a really great guy, so please come and join us if you can. Randy will also be signing copies of the Three Brass Construction cd’s that we released on the Soul Brother label. If we have any over we will offer on line on monday.

The lovely Natasha Watts will be in store on Saturday 22nd September signing copies of her new album ‘My Next Chapter’ which is released on 17th,  pre-orders from 3rd september. Put this date in your diary as it is always a great day when Natasha is here.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Aretha Franklin, the undisputed ‘Queen of Soul ‘.

Aretha touched our Soul’s with her incredible voice and amazing recordings especially those on Atlantic from 67- 76. Malcolm will write a tribute which we hope to publish on Monday.

There have been many good New soul albums in the last month or so from The Suffers,  Lynne Fiddmont, Ty Causey, Bashiyra, Agape Soul, Chris Jasper.
