There are some great singles out this week. Kaidi Tatham has another good 4 track EP on First Word, and Jennifer Holliday returns with a really good ‘Stepper’ in ‘Baby Tonight’. Bill Brandon modern soul classic ‘Streets Got my Lady’ gets a welcome reissue on an Expansion 45 , we also have a limited amount of DJ Copies available.
Pieces of as Man have a good debut Cd on Tru Thoughts who also release another good Quantic album ‘Atlantic Oscillations’.Daptone strike gold again with a great compilation of tracks from the Timmion label, Cd in now LP to follow. There are two very rare Spiritual Jazz Reissues Lp’s on Tidal Waves check out The real ShooBee Doo and Wendell Harrison.
We have now shipped all orders for the Soul on the Realside vol 10 CD and have copies in store. It is another great volume in this consistently good series.
Check out the great new 45 on the Soul Brother label from Chet Ivey. ‘Dose of Soul’ is a great up tempo slab of Funky Soul now being played on the Modern Soul scene. The flip is a storming hunk of funk ‘Get Down with the Geater’. Check the video to listen to both sides, available as a regular dunked 45 and limited edition small hole DJ Copy.
