New releases and pre-orders 6th November 2020

Soul Togetherness 2020 is finally available and in stock on vinyl as well as CD, all pre-orders will be shipped today. Ledisi has recorded one of her best albums in years ‘The Wild Card’ which has a much more soul oriented feel , well back ! Dave Koz will keep smooth jazz fans happy with his first new album in 10 years and the Yellowjackets team up with the WDR band.

There are some very limited vinyl reissues this week , with a couple of Betty Davis coloured vinyl and Horace Tapscott 1969 Flying Dutchman album on Black Vinyl.  Savoy Records were responsible for some great Gospel Soul tracks and the 3CD  and 3 x 2LP compilations showcase the label very well. Watch out in pre-order for a similar set from the Gospel Truth label due next week. James Brown has a very good career overview 2LP compilation ‘Collected’ and first time on 45 for some of his classics from the Black Caesar soundtrack on 2x 45. Eighties LAdies Roy Ayers produced classic is now out on 12″ reissue.  There are some good artist compilation CDs including back in stock Johnny Nash ‘Stir it Up Anthology’ showcasing most of the best tracks of the Reggae/Soul singer  who recently passed .
(Bishop) Rance Allen also sadly passed last week. Rance was primarily a Gospel singer but also made some great Soul records. We were privileged to have released possibly his best Soul album ‘Say my Friend’ on CD . We found some copies of this long out of print title in storage earlier in the week, so grab a copy now if you missed this Mizell Brothers produced 1977 album – see here . We also have a vinyl copy of the 1979 reissue vinyl Lp renamed ‘The way it is’ and others in this week’s collectors album feature –see here
