New Releases and Pre-Orders, Friday 11th March

John Morales has remixed many of Teddy Pendergrass and Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes greatest tracks on a Double CD and 3LP set, giving them a more contemporary feel whilst retaining the feel of the classic originals. Em Cee (formerly Cherokee) visited us last weekend and signed a few copies of her ‘Sugar Coated Hip Hop’ CD album which is a nice mix of contemporary Soul/Hip Hop using many well known breaks, see the pictures here.Erykah Badu ‘Worldwide Underground’ gets a welcome vinyl reissue and there is a great Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters live set from 1975, first time on vinyl. Expansion have 4 really good reissue 45’s including Corey Blake, Brief Encounter, Chuck Jackson and first time on 45 for Freda Payne available as dinked 45s or limited edition DJ Copy full centre 45’s whilst stocks last.There is a fifth one from Family Brown arriving on Monday.

The brilliant Cedar Walton led Eastern Rebellion album is now out on Coloured vinyl, and there is an unreleased Donald Byrd and Bobby Caspar album ‘Cannes 58’ on SAM records. Hermato Pascal has a live album and we are back in stock of Nils Jazz Ensemble, Stanley Turrentine classic ‘Sugar’ and Carla Thomas ‘Queen Alone’ . The Highly acclaimed Little Simz album is finally available on vinyl and there is a good early 5th Dimension 2CD set on Real Gone.
