Tanqueray Hayward has produced one of the best new independent Soul albums of the year so far ‘Definition of a woman’ , we are now back in stock of this CD which sold out in a couple of days when we first had it two weeks ago. We also have a limited amount of signed copies available whilst they last ! Laura Rain and The Caesars have a new retro soul album on LP plus a 45.
Veteran Mavis Staples teams up with Levon Helm for ‘Carry me home’ , Esparanza Spalding has a new LP and Moonchild ‘Starfruit’ a limited edition Coloured vinyl pressing. Reality ultra -rare ‘Disco Party’ is now available on CD and LP. There is a good Soul and Funk compilation ‘Lost in Sound – Rare Soul & Funk Essentials featuring some unusual tracks. Ann Peebles has two releases this week: an unreleased Live in Memphis set from 1992 and a reissue of her debut album ‘This Is Ann Peebles’ on LP. Darlene Love RSd title is also now out on CD. Lucy Pearl 00’s album ft Raphael Saadiq gets a white vinyl issue and we are back in stock of Blue Lab Beats on LP.
Jazzanova reimagine the Strata records from Detroit catalogue, The Pepper Adams RSD album is also now out on CD and we have a few more (possibly the last) copies of the unreleased Roy Brooks LP on Reel to Real.We also have now in stock on CD as well as LP Cedar Walton’s excellent Eastern Rebellion and Toudie Heath ft Herbie Hancock ‘Kaiwada’. JC has compiled a great 3LP set ‘If Music presents Enja records, and Mr Bongo have reissued LPs from Doris and Nico Gomez and there are two Reggae reissues from Dennis Brown and Horace Andy on Studio 16.
There’s also some great singles this week with a Lady Blackbyrd remix 12″, Chip Wickham on Gondwana and good 45’s from Sha La Das ,Laura Rain and a great one from Freedom Affair on One World.
