It’s a massive week for releases this week, with loads of great new albums, reissues on vinyl and CD and 45 reissues.
Robert Glasper ‘Black Radio 111’ is the latest in his series highlighting vocalists, Blue Lab Beats album is finally released on Blue Note and there is a good retro soul album from J.P.Bimini on Cd, Lp to follow. MS1 has a new independent R&B/Soul album, The Lady Wray album is out on regular and coloured vinyl. Binker & Moses have a new album as does vocalist Gretchen Parlato and Amanda Whiting has a good 10″ EP.
Kent have a good soul comp ‘Lowriders – Sweet Harmony Soul’ , The Winstons classic album is reissued on vinyl and Cd and Fela Kuti and Ginger Baker’s great Live album has a 50th anniversary Red vinyl 2lP issue, Manu Dibango ‘s rare and funyk ‘Africadelic’ in on Lp , Cd to follow plus Phil Ranelin Tribe album has a high quality vinyl reissue and the delayed Stanley Turrentine Blue Note Tone Poet Lp has arrived.
Lonnie Liston Smith Live album and Geirge Duke’s MPS catalogue are issued on CD and there are two good Soul compilations Disco Giants 17 and Motown instrumentals ‘All Turned on’ .
There are also some really good 45 reissues classics from The Carstairs, Jimmy Thomas, Thelma Houston and Idris Muhammad plus rarities rom Homegrown Syndrome, Sequence and Trace of Smoke. We are also back in stock of the two Pharoah Sanders Pure pleasure double LPs, Andy Bey and Sam Dees Lps.
