Brian Jackson is the latest great artists to work with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad in the jazz is Dead series (JID 8) , Brian made some fantastic music with Gil Scott Heron in the 70’s and he is still really on point here.The much anticipated Garcia Walker & Durrell album is arriving on Monday and is one of the best new Soul albums of the year so far. Lord & Dego make a really good West London sound BrokenBeat/Nu jazz album.
There are two great Black Jazz albums in the Real Gone Series this week ; The Awakening -Mirage is an amazing album, one of the best on the label, Henry Franklin Skipper at Home is also really good. Motown Collected is a good 2LP set featuring the 33 tracks, classics and some lesser known gems on Limited White Vinyl.
